Our Story

A little bit of history from the venue owners, JP & Michele Perron: Before our building was The Booking House, it was known as The Old General Cigar Co. Warehouse. It was built back in 1884 and produced cigars for more than 50 years. Through the years, the building was used for many purposes, primarily for storage. Our family was looking for warehouse space to store construction
equipment when a friend told us about this building. It is seated in the heart of the industrial section of Manheim, a town where there is a strong community connection, as this is where we raised our family.


We immediately saw the beauty in this old brick structure with its thick chestnut beams and wood floors. We found ourselves and many friends who we took through the building saying the same thing, “This would be a great place to have a party or wedding!” The dreaming turned into planning. We decided that with a little TLC (well, okay a lot of TLC), we could fix up this old beauty for many people to enjoy as a place to host their special occasions. Construction began in October 2013 and we completed renovations in July 2014.

 

We continue to update features throughout the building each year, big and small. In Summer 2022, the dream of a new event space option was discussed. We wanted to offer our wedding couples and event clients a unique space within the building that provided an outdoor-feel without the stress of weather. By September 2023, The Atrium, was complete! The Atrium provides a variety of features including a 13’ x 13’ skylight, 6 large garage door windows, a stunning chandelier, white brick, and concrete floors.

 

Approaching a decade within the event industry and having successfully hosted over 800 events in our venue, we persist in evolving as a close-knit work family to enhance our service for all our clients!
